Philip M. Silver, OD is a staff optometrist in the Beetham Eye Institute of the Joslin Diabetes Center since 1985. Dr. Silver is Chief of the Vision Rehabilitation Service. He also maintains a contact lens and primary care optometry clinical practice. Dr. Silver is an Assistant Professor Optometry at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Silver precepts fourth year optometry students from the New England College of Optometry in his low vision clinic. He has lectured extensively on the topic of diabetes and vision rehabilitation. Dr. Silver has participated in numerous clinical trials in the Beetham Eye Institute and is currently a certified refractionist for the Diabetic Retinopathy Clinical Research Network.
