Joslin Diabetes Center is located at the Carl J. Shapiro Clinical Center within Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Joslin is affiliated with Harvard Medical School. We are located in Boston’s Longwood Medical and Academic Area. This neighborhood is home to the world's best academic and healthcare institutions where the most talented medical professionals, researchers, educators and students can be found living and working.
Despite the hustle and bustle of Boston’s medical and scientific community, Joslin makes it easy for you to visit. We offer access to valet parking and 24/7 parking garages, and we’re right around the corner from many public transportation options.
Directions to Joslin Diabetes Center
It's easy to drive directly to Joslin. Whether you're coming from the north, south, east, or west, interstate 90 and route 9 are the closest highways. Get detailed driving directions from your location.
There are several parking garages at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center:
- All are equipped with elevators.
- All garages are accessible.
- All garages have the same rates, but not all have the same hours.
You may pay for parking at the valet desk during business hours in the Shapiro first floor lobby near the stairs. You may also use the automatic kiosk across from the valet desk. Be sure to pay for parking before heading to your car. Parking discounts are available when you park in a BIDMC garage for more than two hours. To redeem this discount, visit the Information Desk in any BIDMC lobby upon your departure.

Pay before returning to your car
- Convenient drop-off location at Binney St. entrance for patients with appointments at the Shapiro Clinical Center.
- First level is designed to accommodate hi-top vehicles.
Feldberg Garage

Pay before returning to your car
- Convenient for patients with appointments at East Campus buildings. Joslin is located in the Carl J. Shapiro Clinical Center is accessible by indoor walkway from the Feldberg building to the Shapiro building.
Valet Parking
For your convenience, valet parking is available at the Carl J. Shapiro Clinical Center Binney Street entrance, 98 Binney Street, Boston, MA.
Valet parking is a premium service that Joslin is pleased to offer. Discount stickers are not accepted for use of valet. Patient/visitor validation is accepted.
If you have your car parked by the valet, you will be charged a flat valet rate. For details, call 617-667-7000 and ask to be directed to Patient Information.
Valet parking for hi-top vans and patients requiring special assistance is also available at BIDMC. Please contact Commuter Services at 617-667-3035 with questions.

MBTA Subway
- Take the Green Line Riverside "D" car to Longwood stop.
- Walk west on Chapel Street (up a hill) to Longwood Avenue. Turn left onto Longwood, crossing the bridge over the trolley tracks.
- Cross Route 1 (the Riverway) and walk three blocks to Brookline Avenue.
- Cross Brookline Avenue and the Carl J. Shapiro Clinical Center is on the corner on your left.
MBTA Bus
- MBTA bus #60: (Chestnut Hill to Kenmore Square via Brookline Avenue). Exit at corner of Brookline Avenue and Longwood Avenue.
- MBTA bus #65: (Brighton Center to Kenmore Square via Brookline Avenue). Exit at corner of Brookline Avenue and Longwood Avenue.
- MBTA bus #66: (Harvard Square to Dudley Station via Allston and Brookline Village). Exit at Brigham circle near Francis Street. Walk north on Francis Street to Brookline Avenue. Turn right on Brookline Avenue. Walk two blocks to corner of Brookline Avenue and Longwood Avenue. Cross Longwood Avenue.
- MBTA bus #47: (Albany Street to Central Square, Cambridge via the Longwood Medical Area). Exit at corner of Brookline and Longwood Avenue.

Dining
Panera Bread has a location in the lobby of the Shapiro building, just outside Joslin’s Adult and Pediatric clinic locations and just one floor down from the eye clinic.
A short walk along an indoor bridge also brings you to BIDMC’s Ullian Café, which has a wide range of dining options and lots of seating. Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks are also located on the East Campus.
