Dr. Shapira is a Clinical Psychologist in the Pediatric, Adolescent, and Young Adult Section and an Instructor of Psychology at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Shapira’s research focuses on the assessment and treatment of depression in individuals with diabetes. Her work also includes harnessing technology to improve treatment adherence, decreasing diabetes burden, and increasing quality of life. Dr. Shapira provides outpatient therapy to youth, teens and young adults with diabetes and their families which focuses on coping with disease burden, adjusting to new diagnoses, and treating co-occurring mood disorders.
