Dr. Joanna Mitri received her medical degree in Lebanon and completed her training in Advanced Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism Fellowship at Tufts Medical Center. She completed her Master’s Program in Clinical and Translational Science at Tufts University.
Dr. Mitri’s clinical interest is cardiovascular disease prevention in patients with diabetes through a multidisciplinary approach. She established the cardiometabolic clinic and supports the Latinx Diabetes Initiative at Joslin Diabetes Center.
Dr. Mitri performed substantial research on the association between nutrition and lifestyle and cardiometabolic disease. She has led multiple clinical trials in nutrition and has published her research findings on nutrition and cardiometabolic disease in high-impact peer-reviewed journals. She co-chairs the Joslin Clinical Practice Guideline. She participated in the Consensus Report on Nutrition Therapy for adults with diabetes or pre-diabetes with the American Diabetes Association.
