Farnaz Shamsi

Farnaz received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Tehran, Iran. She obtained her Ph.D. in Developmental Biology and Regenerative Medicine from Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry in Göttingen, Germany. She joined Dr. Tseng’s laboratory at the Joslin Diabetes Center in 2015. Her research interests revolve around the regulation of adipose tissue development and function. Farnaz is a recipient of the Max-Planck Society Scholarship, American Diabetes Association Postdoctoral Fellowship, and the K01 Career Development Award from NIH/NIDDK.
