Study on How Diabetes Control May Affect Male Reproductive Health

Are you about to start using a pump or CGM or closed-loop system? Are you trying to improve your A1c and diabetes control?

Our goal is to better understand how diabetes, glycemic control, and fitness may affect reproductive health and epigenetic factors in sperm. We are especially interested in studying men before and after improvements in diabetes control.

Recruitment

• Male
• 18-55 years old
• Type 1 diabetes
• HbA1c > 7.5%

This study involves:

• Brief physical exam and medical history
• Blood test and sperm sample
• 2 visits to Joslin Diabetes Center 3 months apart

Parking vouchers and compensation is provided to all participants.
