The Joslin Diabetes Quick and Easy Cookbook
The authors of the James Beard Award-winning The Joslin Diabetes Gourmet Cookbook have written another cookbook, including 200 simple-to-fix and delicious-to-eat recipes for the way we eat and live today. These dishes prove that a healthy diet for people with diabetes — and for those without — doesn't have to be complicated to prepare or boring to eat.
Authors Frances T. Giedt and Bonnie S. Polin, Ph.D., both of whom have diabetes, worked with the experts from Joslin Diabetes Center's Nutrition Services Department to provide recipes that are both nutritious and appealing, and right in step with today's tastes — from breakfast burritos, southwestern pizza, and chicken ragout and linguini with easy clam sauce to cheesecake, strawberry soufflé and blackberry cobbler. Nutritional analyses and exchange information accompany each recipe, and numerous sidebars throughout the book provide time-saving techniques, helpful cooking and preparation tips, shopping advice and serving suggestions. Valuable appendices contain menus as well as the Joslin Diabetes Exchange List.
